An intimate Halloween evening for eight, with a plum table, pale pumpkins, pear-shaped place cards and the feeling of a quiet orchard after dark. Lavender napkins soften the palette; low, warm points of light keep it welcoming.
Three small islands repeat down the centre, leaving the rest of the table calm. The personal detail is an orchard note: an autumn memory or a hope for the coming season, shared only if the guest wishes. A separate note from the host is theirs to keep.

The colour story
Plum cloth, lavender cotton napkins and decorative green pears bring contrast to the cream paper. The tablecloth has a matte polyester finish.
Repeat two white pumpkins, one green artificial pear and two bare white tea lights three times. Keep the groupings low, stable and clear of the place settings.
A lavender hemstitch napkin rests on an empty cream plate. A cream pear name card stands on its small folded paper support; a clear tumbler completes the place.
The host offers eight memory notes and writing pencils, then invites one line from each guest. Allow about ten minutes, with guests welcome to share or simply listen. Collect the notes in the host envelope; offer the personal keepsake notes separately.

Nothing performative.
A small note with a long life. Write one personal line to each guest on the cream pear-illustrated card and slip it into its own folded paper envelope. It is a quiet goodbye that belongs to this particular gathering.
The card finishes at 3.5 × 2 in; the envelope body is 3.75 × 2.25 in. Test one printed card in one assembled envelope before making the batch. The actual downloadable artwork controls wording and cutting; generated lettering is illustrative.
Approximate cardstock consumption: $0.38 per guest, already within the $15.99 paper pack. Ink and tape are unpriced. The memory note kept by the host is a separate piece, not the guest’s takeaway.

Season & comfort
Keep room lighting bright enough for names and notes. The decorative glow is a finishing touch. Provide a clear, step-free route and an easy seat; keep cables off the floor and the low display away from elbows.
Invite, rather than require, a memory. Guests may write without speaking or pass entirely. The host keeps those notes separate from the personal messages prepared for departure.
The kit includes blank decorative table cards and a welcome sign. Use only the cards you need; they require no additional paper purchase. A portrait in an existing well-lit, step-free corner is optional.
Your paper kit
Ten pear fronts and ten narrow supports; ten memory notes; ten separate keepsake notes; ten blank decorative table cards. Each group gives eight guest pieces plus two spares.
Ten envelope nets: eight guests, one host collection and one spare. The envelope front has a write-in For label. One 5 × 7 in invitation and one matching welcome card complete the kit.

06 / Setup guide
Before the doorbell.
A few quiet preparations.
Confirm an actual table measurement, eight places and delivery dates. Check the cloth drop, one card/support, one envelope and all lights. Write eight personal keepsake notes.
Cut eight pear cards and supports, keeping two spare. Prepare eight memory notes and eight keepsake notes. Assemble eight guest envelopes plus the host collection envelope; retain one spare.
Centre the plum cloth. Place one lavender napkin on each cream plate, one named pear card on each napkin and one clear tumbler at each setting.
Each island receives two pumpkins, one artificial pear and two white lights. Total: six pumpkins, three pears and six lights. Keep all decor separate from plate surfaces.
Allow 60–75 minutes after furniture is in place, plus a 20-minute buffer; this is an untested estimate. Check stability, sightlines, writing light and walking routes. Keep the notes ready with eight pencils.
At the chosen quiet moment, offer the memory notes; guests can share a line or simply listen. Collect them for the host. Give each guest their separate personal note and envelope; switch off and retain all six lights after the gathering.
07 / The finishing details

Stand a pear card
- Cut the broad pear front and one 0.4 × 2 in support strip. Fold the strip across its centre to form two one-inch legs.
- Tape one leg behind the lower centre of the pear, aligning the bottom edges. Lean the pear back slightly and open the free leg until both lower edges rest on the table. Test one piece for balance before making eight.
Fold an orchard envelope
- Cut and score the net. Turn the printed face down so the For label will remain on the flat outside front. Fold both side flaps onto the blank back.
- Fold the bottom flap over the side flaps and tape their overlaps without closing the pocket. Insert a note and fold down the rectangular top flap.
- The 0.25 in nominal width and height allowance is untested with the actual stock. Check a single note and, separately, the host’s eight-note stack; use the spare host envelope if the stack needs splitting.
Don’t forget
Confirm one stable table, eight chairs, eight cream plates and eight clear tumblers. Have eight writing pencils, a compatible printer and ink, a suitable charging adapter, household clear tape, ruler, scoring tool and scissors. These are assumed existing and unpriced. Store spare decor and charging equipment away from the guest area; count the six used lights and six reserve back into their pack.
